I think in 20 years of marriage we've been out twice on New Years eve. Crap on the TV and then the local twats set off fireworks so I have to sit with the dog until half twelve. I always remember about New Years eve interviewing some bloke who'd beaten up his wife because she had gone out without him that night and that was the loneliest feeling in the world. Idiot.
