I do find I'm getting a bit annoyed with Strymons despite having two of them on my board. I don't think they suck tone though.

Interesting read. I've got a timeline, it's probably overkill for what I need and I'll probs sell it at some point but the reason I bought it was for the flexibility it offers. Can't say I've noticed a drastic difference in tone, but it's never gonna be as good as plugging directly in to an amp.

Any decent alternatives to the timeline that don't suck tone that offer similar flexibility?
