It's a variation on Pascal's Wager imo - the idea that you can live your life however you want, then repent at the last opportunity to get into heaven. I suppose you need advance knowledge of when you'll die though, otherwise you need to be good all the damn time and who can be bothered?

The fact that the person is planning on Pascals wager suggests a belief in God. That's pretty much all you need to get in.
