    The Cajon can be particularly effective as a drum replacement when used well.
    I've posted this clip before on my old Korean Indie music thread, but it shows what  can be done with just a Cajon and a single cymbal.

    I agree. They're great for stripped back rehearsals, especially the ones with a built-in piezo. At my local open mic, the organiser brings down his mate to play cajon and it really makes a huge difference. He's a great player and has a kick pedal add-on and can cover a lot of styles. I'd love one for home
