The problem with delays without tap tempo...

Saw this when researching the differences between the DD2 and DD3. It kinda made me chuckle.

But yeah, damn! I remember when I first started playing guitar in Tacoma, I went out and bought myself two analog delays from Malekko. I had the E600 Dark and E300 Light. They were great! Sounded fantastic. I never bothered with a reverse delay, and I never stacked the delays. I used the E600 for 'quarter note' pulses and I used the E300 for 'eighth note' pulses, and I was perfectly happy for a while.

But it did take some remembering knob positions for each song, because each song varies slightly. Also if our drummer started the song ever so slightly slower or faster than it was supposed to be, I basically had no chance to correct the delay times for that song. When you use delay as a rhythmical effect (rather than just a sort of washy thing underneath the main guitar signal) then it goes a bit sloppy.
