Well it lives up to your username I guess...

Sorry to be uncomplimentary - I'm not a big fan of tats!

I hope you like it. That's all that matters.

Aw c'mon, dude's just starting out. One of my bro in-laws is a tattooist and he had to do said same, and on his Mrs, to get his skills up to par.

My mate is the same - has tattoos all over his upper thigh's that he's done on himself to practice. He's now one of the better tattoo artists I know.

It would be better with a bigsby.

My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

Before you commit to skin (yours or someone elses's) practice on a more disposable medium. Pig skin will cost you about 80p in Morrisons, plastic skin can be bought cheap enough, grape fruit is fantastic to practice lines on, or if you really want to use human skin do it all in a very light grey wash, so when your skills have improved it can be covered or redone. Though most learn on pig skin for a good reason, it's very close to human skin.

From the pic, you need to either slow your machine down to match your hand speed or speed your hand up to match your machine (I'd go with first option), also for lines keeping the machine at 90 degrees will allow a crisp line.

To be fair, its only the start, and if you get your shading right it will look good, Its a shame you have done the flames solid as they would have looked great shaded, so def a well done, ad I want to see it when its finiished.

Once the shading is finished on that one, maybe something like this as next project?

Works equally well with a dog if not much of a Cat lover. And have seen the occasional one with human also, but prob best not to post that here...
