Home Alone is quite a nostalgic film for me.  Reminds me of how I used to love Christmas as a kid whereas now I'm a miserable scrooge.
Yer family leave you alone a lot in December then?

My kids love 'em. It's a One Stop Shop for destructive ideas. Esp HA4 when the little twat floods the bathroom/mansion.

  • Groundhog Day, also excellent. Die Hard (first one) is a brilliant thriller.

Die Hard is only good cause Alan Rickman is in it.

Next year they will be too, because in January I'll be booking a Yuletide holiday somewhere hot.  :)

The Nightmare Before Christmas sets the scene very well and the version of A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart ...

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Like the OP, I really like National Lampoons.

Die Hard has to get an honourable mention.

It's not a film but the Box of Delights was a favourite at this time of year when I was a kid. I think one of the channels did a short serial version of it.

I wouldn't normally find this kind of film funny but I also really like Four Christmases.

Mrs loves Miracle on 34th Street.

Frozen is the one in our house this year though. I have a week of 'Let it Go' and Idina Menzel to look forward to.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
