Xmas radio times: got yours yet? What you looking forward to?

Its not officially xmas in my head until I've got the copy of the xmas radio times. So those of you who've got it what are your must see highlights?

 

 

BTW Sky Movies have totally ruined xmas imo because now we don't have big xmas day film premier to look forward to.

Other than that, I watch the same shit at Christmas as the rest of the year.

I was looking forward to the Octonauts Special (Arctic Adventure), which was on yesterday....but I was a bit disappointed to be honest...I was hoping for at least one new GUP :-(

I'm looking forward to 1994 - which was the last time a TV guide was involved in the choice of what movies I watch over the Christmas period.

^^^ ahh you favour the 'chose a channel and see what happens' approach I see. But what if Mrs Browns Boys comes on? Won't you curse yourself and say 'if only I had a radio times, I would have known that Octopussy was on ITV4'?

I'm afraid I have transcended to a whole new level of porn now that babe station that cannot offer. Alas its is also the reason I'm not allowed to stand behind the donkey at the church nativity anymore.

a) I'll never know that Octopussy was on so won't miss it.

b) The channel menu thing on the telly will show that Octopussy is on so I'll choose it from that.

c) I don't watch telly.

That's not the point though owd lad. The xmas radio times is what this country was built on, its what made us great. Electronic programme guides (though acceptable at other times of the year) are for Frenchman loving hipster types.

It is the one time of the year we buy a physical listings mag....and my wife will still sit down with a highlighter pen and circle all the things she'll want to see.

I've not seen a copy yet, but I bet it has an annoying pull out holiday supplement in the middle that's in the way, and will bend the staples when you rip it out meaning the rest of the pages will be falling out before boxing day....grrr.

None of it.  It's all utter shit.  We are bombarded with hundreds of channels showing 24h substandard drivel.  The days of 'the big christmas films' are gone.  When we had limited choice and a small selection of quality, original films, they meant something.  Now it's just noise.
