portable hdd for new macbook.

Looking for one say 1 tb. Any real difference for a mac ?
I see in currys several between £50 and £70 with usb 3.
Like the look of the Toshiba aluminium ones...

All I'd say is ... Don't keep anything irreplaceable on one, or buy two and regularly backup from one to the other.

Agree, and tend to use different methods . I often email files to myself , back up to "pens". That I keep in a safe ,plus another hdd. This is for daughter no 2 as the macbook only had 256 g ss hdd. I am trying to get her into the habit.

My eldest s few years back had her laptop fail and had her dissertation on it. I asked if she had backed it up. No she said in tears, I then said it was lucky that I had backed up all our computers a week earlier. We restored all but one week. I hope a lesson learnt...
