I'm considering an Intel NUC running Linux to use as a small media server. 

Anyone got any experience of them?

The alternative I've thought of is getting an HP Chromebox and installing Linux on it. The only issue is the system disk is quite small at 32GB.

Been thinking about something similar myself, but then this looks like it might be a better idea:

Takes 7mm and 9.5mm drives. Dual core, too, and pretty bloody cheap.

Why not get a Pi and a large USB drive or a NAS?
