Old band members

Not in age, but as in previous members.

Our band has had four drummers, and three of them turned up at last night's gig. Bloody weird seeing them all together like that. Once introduced to each other, and they found out that the others were drummers, it was like a family reunion between them. The previous guy had brought his 16-year old son with him, and I asked him what the collective noun was for a group of drummers. "Dumb", came the response.

Does this happen to you? Do your old band members turn up to your gigs?

I'd be pretty scared if ex-bass players came to one of my gigs. I gigged with one who died of cancer, and another who died of a heart attack. Don't ever gig with me as a bass player ...

Yes, occasionally. Our previous guitarist took some live photographs for us last year, and key board player dep'd at my birthday party. Sometimes it's a bit uncomfortable because life's moved on, and they feel they are no longer part of the team.
