Many cars (including mine) don't have a spare these days.

The stuff you pump into it is a waste of time unless it's a tiny tiny hole - it just sprayed all over the road when I had to use it, so the thought of getting a flat out of hours when is a nightmare.   When the rac came to mine - 70 miles from home so no other option, we took the wheel off and wizzed over to the near tyre place I could google. He said it was pretty regular and did several every week like that.

Inflation kits are designed purely to get you to a garage at low speed. Spare wheels affect weight and fuel, consumption figures hence they are being slowly eliminated.

  • yeah cant even try inflating it now either as you have to drive them to get the selanat to go all the way round the tyre and im blocked in until my wifes frieds leave so ill prob end up trying to do it in the dark then hoping the garage down teh road can fit me in tomorrow

Set light to the car and go and rob a local garage.

Buy a wheel c/w inflated tyre and carry it in the boot. A breakers yard is a good place to look. Oh, you will need a jack and a multi sized wheel nut spanner.

Aren't there those mobile dudes like blackwheels that you could use? At least they come to you.

Good luck. I fkn hate it when cars give me shit. I had a flooded engine last year that took 3 AA visits and numerous false computer chip readings to diagnose, at a time I really needed the car.

It's probably only flat at the bottom.

Had a puncture recently when I hit a pothole the size of a lunar crater. Put two holes in the tyre each about an inch across which no amount of sealant was ever going to fix. Had to wait best part of two hours for the mobile tyre repairman, and passenger missed his flight. If the car had come with a normal spare I'd at least have had a fighting chance.

My current car is fantastic in so many ways but I have had 4 yes four flats in 18 months and no Fekkin spare. I have now bought a spare with a tyre fitted. That gunk ruins the tyre and you always need a new one anyway. Jack and brace and I expect no more flats.
