Sorted Now: IT help - Remote control of my in-laws Laptop?

My in-laws own a laptop, but they're always on the bloody phone to me whenever they can't print something, or something happens that they don't understand....this happens a lot and it's a pain!

So is there software available (ideally free) that'd let me sit in my living room and be able to control their laptop...without getting in the car and driving over there?

A quick google comes up with TeamViewer....is that the answer I'm looking for?

Chrome remote desktop. It's free.

Splashtop Remote Desktop is good and can be used on loads of different devices.

Can remeber if it is free though.

I also use teamviewer for this, best of all it has android and ios apps so I don't even need to get off the sofa and get the laptop to remote onto another pc.

I use to use log me in for this purpose, not sure how it is these days (this was about 5 years ago)

Logmein removed a lot of their free functionality. Most people defected to TeamViewer, as did I.

Nah, they wouldn't be able to get any footage off their video camera and onto their PC without my help!

Surprisingly their internet history is clean....mainly wood turning and knitting patterns. I was very surprised not to find anything even slightly dodgy when I've helped them in the past, and I'm sure they've no idea how to cover their tracks!
