What's Hot
So my search for a new tremolo pedal led me to the Hummingbird, which led me to look at all of EQDs stuff.

Anybody else gassing for their whole line of pedals? I mean it seems like literally everything they make is amazing! I already have the dispatch master, I'll be getting the hummingbird and I also now want the new sea machine, the hoof fuzz and pretty much every thing they make :/

Disaster Transport is a beaut, and I NEED a Bit Commander.

Not tried any of their fuzzes though. When I was looking, it was a toss up between their Hoof Reaper, and the Blackout Effectors Twosome. The Twosome won.

I've got two (Rainbow Machine and Afterneath), but I wouldn't mind a few more

Park Fuzz Sound, Palisades and Hummingbird would do to start with :)

  • I play ambient post-rock in bands and do a lot of soundscapes and looping when I'm at home. They just have so many amazing pedals for that stuff!

  • I love their stuff too but I have actually never kept a single pedal.
I have only owned 3 or 4 but for one reason or another they never stay.

I always prefer Mr Black and Empress over EQD

but it is nice to see a new major player with such a huge range or novelty noises.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

all my none dirt pedals are EQD...

to be honest, i miss the palisades, so that may come back, and that was the only one that i've ever sold...their pedals are too good and irreplaceble i think. They do things that other pedals dont do, or just do it differently. There is something inherent about EQD pedals...they are just voiced better than anthing else to my ears.

BTW...I have the hummingbird, and it is a great pedal!

i also have the Ghost echo, Distaster Transporter Snr, Grand Orbiter, Monarch

they're all great companies. I'd say that Mr. Black generally sound a bit more "organic" / less digital. Empress pedals are without exception amazing pedals that don't get the recognition they deserve in my opinion; they're comparable with the very best. Not quite as affordable as EQD though, and far less variation.

I popped down to coda music to try out their fuzzes, cloven hoof, terminal, dream catcher and a few others and i found the dirt commander to be my favourite.  Very spluttery and loads of different sounds in there .. I should have tried their non fuzz type effects too whilst i was there

I liked how small they were ,,

I like it a lot, not had chance to really understand it yet, but I like what I've managed to get out of it so far :)

  • Hmm, yeah it just looks nuts! Although that is what I really like about all their pedals to be fair.

I love EQD stuff - just mad enough to be interesting but useful.

Hummingbird rocks, as does the Dispatch Master which has become a mainstay of my home set up. I love it deeply. :-)
