For the first time...(3/3)

After much deliberation I finally purchased myself a new amp a fortnight ago.

Its the best amp I have ever owned hands down(not much competition to be fair)

I'd never owned a full valve amp before(VT20+ was valve preamp I believe)

When trying out in the shop I noticed the gain button so gave it a push.......

WOW.

It sounds unbelievable compared to some of the pedals I've become accustomed to using for my drive tones.

As luck would have it the amp came with a foot switch so I was away!

My drive pedals are all currently in the cupboard as the gain channel on the Blackstar sounds so good to my ears, Is so variable and is so convenient.

One year from the pedal board above my rig now looks like this:

My playing is also coming on in leaps and bounds as I am focused on getting sounds out of just the amp rather than throwing pedal into the mix left right and centre to accommodate for my poor playing.

<I do have a DD3 to add in the effects loop and a BM to use for boosting but that can come in good time, I am going to wire up a better board first/>.

In a nutshell I can't believe it took me this long to find out how good an amps drive could be!

No real reason for this thread, just wanted to share my journey.

 :)
