Got a couple of little tears on the vinyl on my DSL and well they're sticking out like little flaps and make it look scruffier than it should so I'm gonna stick 'em back then it should look a lot betterer. So..not a very interesting thread as such but what glues work well ?

I use Superglue - just be careful not to get any on the surrounding tolex.

    Copydex. Honestly.

Copydex because you can wipe off the excess with a damp cloth and maneouvre the bit you are glueing down very easily.

  • Evo stick contact adhesive does the job well. Don't ever use the spray glues for carpet/upholstery, I tried it on one of my amps and it never really sets, it just leaves a sticky mess.

White PVA wood glue works well too.

    Basically anything sticky :).

I've used copydex and PVA (not at the same time) and they both work fine although I think the PVA is easier to clean up.

PVA, hot air (on a cool to mid setting) gun to dry it quickly, when it will then behave like contact adhesive. It will also soften the tolex a bit and you'll be able push it around some. If you're happy with the placement, cool it more rapidly with a damp sponge, which will help clean off any excess glue.
