PSUs,,, noise issue

Hi All,

I've noticed recently that my board adds a bit of noise- hum.
I am using a Gator PSU that came with the pedal tote board-bag kit, so I'm guessing it's a very basic one.
What about more sophisticated PSUs, isolated etc, are they supposed to make the whole board a bit quieter?

Pedals are not boutique but they are decent, flashback: corona and EP booster in the loop, AC and RC booster in front and occasionally a VOX wah.
I'm not convinced that the 2 Xotics on the front work 100% as one of them has cut out a few times but the board-caused noise was noticed at a time when everything was working OK.
It was during a proper pro-level rec. session and the engineer was amazed at how an amp like the MkV could be so noisy.. until we unhooked the board.. The PSU is the weakest link in my chain imho so I think I should start from that.

Cables are basic too, nowt worst than the average fender or planet waves cable you find in the shops.

Any thoughts please share.
Thanks,

Isolated power will always run quieter as you have no risk of ground hum.

Could be one of the pedals causing the noise though.

Go through them one at a time and see if you can identify a culprit.
