Blimey, he does go on a bit, it's only an overdrive not rocket science.
Sounds OK, what little I heard of it.

Its not a production pedal though, its more a proof of concept for the technology inside.

Also I like that he resisted the temptation to say it was some kind of revolutionary new sound and took pains to underline its really just a new electronic way of getting an old sound.

I don't know, I just glazed over while he was talking.

I thought it sounded quite unpleasant. Harsh and very 'unmusical'. I'd need a lot more convincing. It looks good on the whiteboard, but seems, at the moment, to be a potentially expensive solution looking for a problem.

In theory the range of sounds available from it would be as varied as the ones you can get from a tradtitional transisotr, i.e every overdrive circuit ever.

For an OD pedal there's way too many knobs on there, I could spend all day twiddling them and still not get a tone I was happy with. When I bought a Pork Loin it took me ages to find my favourite tones and that's only got 5 controls not including the internal dials.

Ironically, for nanotechnology that's a huge pedal.
It does have some decent tones though.

^ I was going to say, not sure what the point is in putting the molecular electronics stuff in a little chip type thing which is roughly the same size as (maybe a bit bigger than) a regular chip, transistor or diode. Sort of defeating the purpose surely?

I generally like JustNick's vids, too, fwiw. He's often one of the few voices of reason on TGP as well. :))

    It's going in to production.
