Fredric Effects Zesty Comp - any opinions?

    I think they've only recently been released. If you need to know anything i'd contact @timhulio, he's the guy at Fredric Effects and he's a nice chap and i'm sure he'll answer any questions you have.

    Thought I'd post my email reply to you here Mark, in case anyone has similar queries about the Zesty Comp.

    The Zesty Comp is based on a modified Orange Squeezer circuit, and I think it's a more musical sounding compressor than Dyna Comp types. It's also capable - thanks to the three levels and input gain control - of much more pronounced 'squishy' compression. It's been a while since I played a Dyna Comp (the reissues aren't great) so I don't recall how noisy they are. I don't find the Zesty Comp particularly noisy, but as you've surmised, you'll have to judge for yourself to be sure. They've got one of these comps at Regent Sounds, and (I think) Vintage Guitar Boutique.
