I have decided that I don't like jam tracks. I don't just mean those free mp3s which have a stylophone version of The Thrill is Gone. No...I also mean the paid for Jam Track Central stuff. I don't like those either (with one or two exceptions).

I think there are certain albums which are much better to jam to......
One favourite would be the Matt Schofield Live album (the organ trio). Suberb sound quality, great musicians, and lots of occasions where Matt stops playing to give Jonny on the Hammond a longish noodle.

Yep, a looper is good for that. Wish I'd never sold mine but I'm starting to get to grips with loopy the iPad app and it's pretty good.

I only ever play with myself. I have a set of backing tracks that are my favourites, I make backing tracks to songs that I want to do instrumental versions of and I also buy tracks to do instrumental versions as well.
