PRS 59/09 & Rotary switch Q

I'm about to put together another guitar, and have been through my parts drawer (it's more of a cupboard) to hunt out suitable bits and pieces.

I've got a set of PRS 59/09 pickups (I know where they came from), and I've got a complete PRS wiring loom with the 5-way rotary switch (no idea where that came from!).

Is there anything I need to worry about - I've read various things about reversing polarity and pickups being out of phase - or can I just hook the 59/09s up to the 5-way rotary and be good to go??

  • It's been a while since I've done one @TTony, but I think if you simply use the PRS wiring diags you are fine - PRS pups and PRS switch.  I think the issue is more if you are popping in PRS pickups into something presently wired up for, eg Seymour Duncan.

    Anyone else agree?

What wires do they have coming off them Tony? The prs pickups compatible with the 5 way rotary have 3 wires - black, white and red.

If it looks like normal HB wiring then I don't think it'll work.
