NGD - first ever strat!

What's Hot
imageoday I picked up a 93 Jap Squier Strat. Really happy with it as it's in silly condition for a guitar over 20 years old! It seems like it hasn't been played at all. The neck is a dream, little bit of chunk to it but a nice c shape and fits comfortably in my hand. Also it's unlacquered which is great for me with my sweaty hands! Pickups are the ceramic ones but they pleasantly surprised me. I'm going to give them a decent go over the next few days before I decide for sure but potentially will swap them for some SD's.

It needs a restring (I don't know if it's ever had one!) and a set up but I'm really happy with my first strat. Bring on the quack :)

    Nice :)

Check mojo pickups or oil city if u can, either do excellent hand wound pickups at great prices - could probably get from classifieds if lucky ;)

Good guitars those MIJ Squiers, they tend to be on the heavy side but the strat tones are there and they're well built.

  • This one feels alright on the weight side. I've held lighter guitars but I wouldn't describe it as heavy. Maybe I got lucky!
