You wouldn't prefer the original grey basket ones ? I've had a classic reissue and to my ears it didn't sound as good - admittedly it hadn't had 30 years of breaking-in though

I'd love a pair of originals but you can add 50 quid a speaker minimum. If you can find them. Most have been reconed.

Ooo not sure I can divulge such information @Pete24v haha. Nah thomann have them on special for £142 each. And it's free delivery if you spend more than £145. I couldn't find them anywhere else. If you fancy some I'd move quickly as I can't see them staying that cheap for long.

lol, thanks, i'd done a google and found them there a few days ago. Still undecided, the cab is going to be a monster with a pair of them!

Luckily mine is a solid pine open backed 2x12. So empty the cab is feather light so I'm not worried about weight. The sound should be huge though

Just ordered a pair, now to sort out a cab. I've had a 1x12 with evm12l before, that was a great sounding cab.

I use a pair of 1 x 12" Mesa Birch ply halfbacks with an OEM and Black Shadow. Weight is about 20kg per cab so portability is okay and you can space them out for stereo or just use one for smaller gigs. Had Thieles at one point and though the sound was massive outfront, I missed ambience from the stage. Halfbacks work better for me.
