I'm talking about a VHT Valvulator.

I don't know how it does what it does but for a buffer it's bloody amazing. I've only played through it for a few minutes, straight into the amp and then into pedals and it adds a gorgeous sweetness, clarity and presence. Not at all shrill or favoring any particular frequency, just a very evenly balanced tone.

The strange thing about it is the way it reduces hum from single coils. In fact it does more than reduce it, it kills hum completely.

It's also a power supply with 4 isolated outputs but I haven't tried that yet.

I'd always been intrigued by this thing but never quite believed the glowing reviews. Now, I realise I should've got one of these years ago.

Best bit of kit I've bought for a long time.
