value of an iPhone 5?

Being offered a used ( but in good condition) iPhone for Eric Jr. Somebody bought one and then got a works one a few months later ( my works mobile being a can on a string so this seems odd to me , but there you go...) so he is trying to cut his losses without going to eBay.
I haven't got the foggiest. Anyone got a ball park figure?

What size? Network? Is it unlocked?

Have a look on CEX for a guide as to what he could sell it for.

Think it is on EE, same as my sons current phone.

Don't forget the iphone 5 uses a nano sim so chances are you'll have to get a sim swap unless you fancy getting the scissors out!

Ebay completed listings show £300-£400 depending on spec and condition.

As a happy iPhone user I wouldn't buy a used one unless it was a lot cheaper than that. You can buy a brand new 4S for £349.

I think sub £300 but he would need a new(nano) SIM by the look if it ( he has a SIM only contract so that's doable I guess).
A new 4s might be better then.

I would stick to a 4 anyway. I upgraded my 4 to a 5 a few months back and have regretted it ever since. The screen is only marginally bigger, the camera is worse, the wifi drops out at random and it doesn't seem to actually do anything better than the 4 did. Plus the new lightning connector meant I had to buy a bunch of new leads.
