I need an isolated output power supply for my simple board.

Research has pointed me to the T-Rex Fueltank Jr.

Anyone got one and care to vouch?

As luck would have it my tuner has gone aswell so I am tempted to just buy a G3 and use that instead as my only pedal

  • I hate that it doesn't take a kettle lead and has a fixed one. Deal breaker for me. I use Carl Martin pro power instead.

    You're kidding!

    That's that out then.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Actually I think I might be wrong about this, looks like there is a new version now and the lead is no longer attached. Which is how it should have been in the first place.

Mine has a detachable lead. It's a decent quiet power supply if it meets your current and voltage requirements. Comes with a lot of leads including voltage and current doublers.

  • Had one, it's lead was detachable fwiw. Decent, small power supply. Kind of regret selling mine actually.

  • I have one and also the Thomann HB version.

Get the HB it's a third of the price and does the same job. Had it on my board for 7 years and it's still going strong.

Thanks for clearing that up guys :)

I just need to decide whether to buy a power supply and tuner or go G3 now!

I think that depends on why and how much you use effects. I prefer singles as I like to tweak and feel the ability to tweak in real time is great. I also like buying, changing and swapping fx, singles give great flexibility. No experience of a g3.

The HB PP Jr doesn't have a detachable lead by the looks of it :(

    You're correct

That is something that T-Rex have only recently added to their model.

I certainly wouldn't let it be a deal breaker when you could cut the cable yourself and make a detachable cable setup for less than £5 for two quality connectors.
