I've always quite fancied a Brassmaster, since I used the (albeit probably weak) model of one on Pod Farm! Definitely interested in that, but I do need to ask - how does it cope with being after a buffer/low impedance? I use an active guitar which puts out a very low impedance which I know is a problem with some fuzzes (fuzz face, I'm looking at you)
    Thanks
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

Hey there. To be honest I've no idea. And I've not got access to a active guitar soI could check it out for you. I generally had it first in the chain too, with a passive bass or guitar.

I'll throw it after a pedal that acts as a buffer later and let you know how I get on.

Thanks mate that would be perfect, essentially the active pups are buffers in terms of their output, I think any Boss type pedal would have the same effect (if there is any at all). Thanks my friend

Hey there, so I tried it after a Zvex pedal - these all have buffers - and I couldn't tell any difference between that and going straight into the pedal. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I though Zvex were all true bypass though, I may be wrong as I'm not an expert on them?

Yeah, you're totally right. duh.... that'll be why there was no difference.

Just tried it with a Boss CS3 in front of it - defo buffered - and it's a bit brighter. I use one of those MXR Classic 108 Fuzz pedals, and the effect of having the Boss pedal in front of this Brassmaster is the same as hitting the biffer switch on the Classic Fuzz. Brighter and more presant.

    Sorry for the confusion!

I've raised the money I need for the purchase I'm after, so swaps are on the table for the Box Of Metal and Brassmaster. Interested in a nice analog chorus mainly, but other fuzzes or a nice rotary EQ like an EQD Tone Job would be considered as well.

So anybody got a nice chorus or EQ pedal they'd be willing to trade for these pedals?
