What a bunch of miserable twats this lot are....an opportunity to promote yourself in one of the worlds biggest movie franchises and you say no we're not a studio.

It's their choice ... I wouldn't call any political ground sacred as politics and religion should be kept apart. Would anyone have noticed? The best part of Wales is the scenery ... some lovely landscapes.

You can't film drama in No10, or in the House of Commons, so I kind of agree with the rejection.

The BBC has replica sets of the door of No10, the Cabinet office etc ready for use.

Those (particularly No10) are known across the world, but I can't see the Assembly building being recognised accurately by the average film watcher. It could be any room in the UN, or more to the point any modern assembly room built anywhere in the world within the last 20 years. They all look the same!

Wouldn't surprise me if the Bond people wanted to use it as a set for something outside of Wales. Just like Batman's house is (depending on the film) Knebworth House or Wollaton Hall and no where near the USA.

Just seems like an opportunity missed. The film industry is huge down in Cardiff Bay too with the BBC there as well as some movie stuff. Bit short sighted. We're a tiny country that needs every penny we can get and I daresay that being in a James Bond film would pay pretty well.

Not to mention the fact that it might get kids a bit interested in visiting the place. Which I think is in the interests of the politicians there.

I can't see what the harm would be and can see lots of obvious benefits. It makes them come across as a bunch of miserable fucktards too, which politicians generally try but fail to do.

The first Daniel Craig one was a fucking brilliant film. They should do more like that one.

I'm not sure how news worthy this is, surely Movie companies get refused from many places... why is it suddenly in the news?

If there was a tourist benefit maybe I would think they should allow, but no one is going to watch Bond, see that seen and say what a lovely debating chamber, we should go visit I guess.

from the sony leaks this film started shooting without a finished script so I dont have high hopes for it.

Daniel Craig is no James Bond.  Don't get me wrong, I think the last 3 have been great films but I don't see them as real bond films.

I think I understand the Welsh assembly's reticence.  They are effectively a fictional government and perhaps they were concerned that appearing in a fictional movies might cause confusion.

I agree with their decision.  If you can't film in the Commons or Holyrood, why should the Senedd be used ?
