I was thinking about this the other day, and concluded that a dream custom built guitar pedal would need:
1. To be possible to predict how it will sound, to prevent disappointment
2. Be built very robustly
3. Physical layout be as important as circuit
Mine therefore would be:
Dual Overdrive/Boost pedal a la KOT but:
Right side = Prince Of Tone (inc external switch options on the factory POT)
Left side = EP Booster (with DIP options on case rather than on PCB)
Connections on rear face a la KOT, inc power
Foot switches at the lower edge, not half way up the pedal (95% of builders, I'm looking at you...)
Feasible?
What are the things you'd 'fix' in a truly custom build?
Red ones are better.

What I'd fix about some boutique pedals is the look of them, for example the recent talk about a forum Bear***t is of less interest to me because I really don't like the "font" and would struggle to spend big money on something that looked like that, whereas the Idiotbox Mad Doctor Stutter appeals to me not only because it appears to do something I'm after a pedal to do, but it looks cool too
