Up for sale is my Dad's pride and joy!

Amazing quality guitar - mahogany body, carved flame maple top with arm scoop cut to the mahogany, locking tuners, Wilkinson trem, rolled fingerboard with comfortable shallow C profile. This guitar looks and sounds amazing. This model is about 8 years old but in mint condition.

Maybe I'm wrong but aren't the green labels usually £1k+ and have a one piece mahogany neck?

I think this is a forerunner to the Green and Blue series but I'm not sure. It certainly plays, feels and sounds like a £1k guitar!

The original Fret King range was founded by Trevor Wilkinson and made in the UK at the Eggle factory. After that got sold / closed, Trevor had these made in the EU. I love the guitars, but that horendous lime green EU font cheapens it IMO. The guitars are now made all over the place with different grades based on the 'label' system.

Thanks for the info - any idea where in the EU they were made and what they would be equivalent to with the new labels?

Probably the Czech Republic by then. The Czechs have a long history of classical instrument making - how is there 'electric' reputation?

The NS Design basses are made in the Czech Republic, pretty high end bass guitars. At one point there were Epiphones made there apparently.
No idea if these are all the same factory or what have you.

http://epiphonewiki.com/index.php/Bohemia_Musico-Delicia That's a page about the factory that made guitars for Epiphone, Spector and Kramer in the 80's and 90's. I guess it wouldn't be suprising if they made the Fret King EU series. I've spent the last 20 minutes googling this without turning up much other than confirmation the EUs were made in the Czech Republic. :bz

You used to be able to call Trevor before he climbed fully in to bed with JHS. If you can get hold of him, he would be more than happy to advise you. Call the guys below as I know they are FK advocates and have Trev on speed dial if they cant answer you! (I'm pretty sure they also have a couple of old stock EU's in the shop).
