Pots

If anyone has read my cable advice post, this is similar newbie naivety!

Where do I find info about what value pots to use when rewiring a guitar? I'm working on several strats, a Tele and an Antoria SG Custom (3 PUP) and have some decent pups so want to ensure the other components are good enough.

Also, is there a good resource for wiring diagrams?

Cheers

Seymour Duncan site has most wiring diagrams and pot values.

Is it worth spending a £5+ on CTS pots?

If so where is the best place to get them?

I bought a CTS once and was unimpressed. In fact I have only ever bought 1 pot that I thought was good enough, it was a PRS. Amazing, but I think they are about £18

In my opinion, standard cts are about comparable to alpha pots. Both are pretty standard and both are pretty okay.

I use cts true vintage taper pots, which seem better made and supposedly have a better taper (I'm not too fussed on taper as long as it's log!).

Some folk here love bourns pots, which are often sealed and should therefore stay noise free longer. I'll probably try them on my next project.

The only opinion I've ever had on pots is that some are annoyingly loose and others feel reassuringly tight. For some reason, I equate that to quality. Annoyingly there's no way to tell without buying a particular brand what catagory they'll fall in.
