supro dual tone

So, me and @timmysoft went to @Peachguitars today to try some 68 custom Fender amps and a Couple of Supro amps.
All nice amps but the supro Dual tone was outstandingly good. fat tone, full sounding and punchy , smooth highs and not boxy in any way - nice tremolo too.
Anybody here have one ?
I might buy one...

I am really glad you've said this because they are on my list of wants. I just need to find a shop near me that sells them. They look amazing though.

Incidentally in my thread I meantioned that my amp choice is between a JTM45, a dual tone and a 68 deluxe so it seems we are searching for the same type of amps.

Second time I've tried the supros, I think they sound great, really fat and loads of grunt

@timmysoft how would you compare them to a JTM45?

Totally different tone, the supro has less gain and doesn't compress in the same way. It's a unique tone, I haven't heard another amp do anything like it.

I have been impressed with what I have heard on line. Did you try any pedals in it out of curiosity?

The first time I tried one I put a fuzz face in front of it and it sounded mental!

wonderful amps. Real sleepers. My friend gigs one and wow its good.

they're not great demos to be honest - certainly not representative of the tones we were getting "in the room". Matt Smith gives a better idea of what theyre capable of -

That means they thought it was terrible, since they only give 4, 4 and a half, or 5 .

A friend of mine has an original 60s Lectrolab, very similar - I think possibly made by Valco as well, although I'm not sure. It does sound great, but it's really a pretty one-trick pony. It needed a better speaker than the original cheap ceramic Jensen though - he fitted an old P12N.

My local guitar shop has one; I've plugged into it several times and I'm definitely impressed.
