HELP! I think I've fried my Lazy J.

So, recalling i bought this off @cbellanga, I recalled Claudio vaguely telling me (my recall is vague) that it had a 110/240v selector toggle as he's a bit of transatlantic jet set kinda guy.

When I saw Jesse I asked what the toggle did. Mid hump boost, he replies. Not voltage? Deffo not says he.

So, I just flicked the switch. Amp now dead.

Assuming it IS a voltage selector, what will I have done?

And is it costly?

@ICBM? Amp builders? HELP!!!!

    I really hope it doesn't have a voltage selector on a toggle switch. That would be extremely irresponsible of the builder.

    If it is, and the PT is robust, and you're lucky, it will just have blown the primary fuse. If not you've blown the PT, most likely.

    If it's not a voltage selector, it's either an odd coincidence or the mid boost caused a power valve to fail which has blown the fuse, or something similar.

    Is the switch under the chassis?

    If it's the switch under the chassis then it's a switch to take some low mids out of the sound, for 'un-mushing' humbuckers if you will.

    The best person to speak to is Jesse, his customer service is second to none, even on amps bought s/h. He once did a one hour Skype session with me while I re-wired a modded Lazy J back to stock!

    Also try unplugging reverb/term modules, see if that makes a difference. I'd be surprised if it is the PT as that's the whole thing with Lazy J's, the beefed up transformers.

      Jesse has read this and instantly responded, usual brillaint customer service and the amp is going back to Lazy Towers for a little bit of TLC, and hopefully, we can shove the trem module in it which is something I'd not gotten around to.

    Of course, if you'd bought two Lazy Js then you wouldn't be having this kind of issue.

    We could have a whip round and pick you up a used Marshall MG10 if that would help :)

    I've already offered him £50 for the now obviously completely worthless Lazy J, plus a Marshall Reverb 12 amp.
