I use a microfiber cloth.
Get a nice plush one from Halfords, I use the cheap Kent ones from ASDA on the car, but for the guitar I use a thicker one.
The ones from Poundland are excellent, the "Drying cloths" are nice and thick.
When you wash them, make sure you do not use conditioner, it screws them up bigtime.
All to do with the electrostatic properties allegedly.
The ones for the car I soak in washing up liquid/white vinegar to break down the wax.
On a guitar one you should just need to use the liquid detergent.

What's wrong with an old t-shirt, the type that has had all the lint that is going to fall off, pre-falled-off 5 years ago >:)
Those ones are fine for light dust but no good for getting off sticky kiddie handprints
I've got a Dunlop finishing cloth....very nice does a good job!
Actually anything that's been washed a lot is perfectly usable.
