Picked up in a trade - a 30th Anniversary MIAC (music industry association of Canada) Limited Edition EBMM Silhouette Special, in Cream, #28 of 30,
Anyone got any feedback on Silos and any idea of value for insurance ?

I had a standard silhouette with a maple neck. A beautiful guitar, really comfortable and it sounded great for blues, pop and rock but the neck was a little too small for me and couldn't cover jazz (surprise, surprise!). Cost 1000 new in 2007, then sold second hand for 700 I think, a few years later.

No - i believe its an early 2000s model before the roasted maple came in AFAIK - very figured maple unfinished - gunstock oil sealed

1 x Albert Lee SSS orange firemist

1 x JP6 BFR bahama blueburst (with piezo)

1 x JP6 mystic dream (no piezo)

Possibly another one coming if I can find some money from somewhere haha

How do the Silo and JP6 necks feel in comparison ? are they similar ?

I had an L3 for a while - HSS full RW neck - but didnt bond with it tbh .. The silo neck whilst similar is sufficiently different to make this feel like a keeper

Silo n JP necks - very different - silo deeper, narrower , 10" radius , medium frets .

Absolutely beautiful. An Albert Lee has for a long time been way up my want list but having almost bought a couple I just can't get on with the necks. Great NGD though.

@JMP220478 I didn't get on with the L3 neck either. I play a silo, SS and JP6 & JP7 models. they just work for me especially the silo and SS
