Ive tried and owned most of the well known 'verbs...here's my two penneth worth, and as ever, ymmv;

Of the ones for sale above, the EQD amd Dr S are very very good.

The best Ive tried ?? Strymon Big Sky is amazing, but THE best Ive tried is the new Catalinbread Talisman.. Quite incredible really. Lovely self oscilation, and you can add a bit of 'grit' to the sound. The basic reverb sounds are simply sweet and smooth, with a hint of compression. Good luck !

@Wazmeister how do you rate the best verb pedals against the inbuilt reverb on say your Carr amps? Do you use a pedal with those amps?

Great question mate... 

You know that there was a thread on here some months ago about amp vs pedal reverb. I was all up for saying that amp reverb is always better, when I realised that I nearly always use pedals !!!

The Carr reverb is lush; it really is. I've just a/b the Carr 'verb vs the Talisman, and to my surprise, I prefer the Talisman ! To be fair though, the Talisman does have 5 knobs to the Carr's one. 

Also, bear in mind that this is at 7.30-in-the-morning bedroom volumes. The Carr's verb will come into its own when kicked a bit...

The Talisman is amazing when driven too though. This video says its best. Sorry if this has hi-jacked the thread a bit !

@cookiemonster I have the MS70-CDR that I'm thinking of selling (or swapsies) if you decide to go down that route. Thinking of going standalone reverb pedal for my 'verbs

Cool, look forward to hearing your views on it, I have thanks to your thread traded my Trininty for the Zoom, so looking forward to seeing if its as good as it seems on youtube, if not then I will be off on the next bout of GAS i am sure
