For the money, a good guitar.

The satin finish can be buffed, and at the price you don't mind it getting knocked around a bit.
It will wear like a vintage guitar rather than chip like a modern poly gloss number.

Change the import spaced saddles if they become an issue.

Neck is quite slim so steer clear if you like chunky monkeys.

I really like them, I nearly bought the large headstock one when Thomanns were selling them for £300 back in 2006 (ish).A good workhorse guitar with upgrade potential, or keep as spec.

Loved mine, but hated the thin finish
Didn't mind that it rubs off, but dents like a bugger from the softest blow

    Just for @Adam_MD

Trans-cocoa finish (apparently a 1 year thing). Looks chocolately in the flesh and is actually very nice IMO. Its one of the lightest Strats I've owned.- not featherweight but very comfortable.

@Dagga36 This one is showing signs of wear with a few minor bumps but while I know what you mean, I'm a fan of naturally reliced guitars and its one of the reasons I picked this one up.

@Adam_MD  It's quite a thin neck compared to what I normally like, but feels pretty much like a standard Strat neck should - inoffensive! It's very comfy and easy to play. Bit early to say, really, but feels good.

Right, I'm off to try some more Gilmour licks!

I had a flat black one in 2009. It was I think a 2007 guitar.
It was immense and I don't know why they stopped making them.
Mine had jumbo frets, a 'proper' headstock, USA 6 Point Tremolo and alnico 3 pickups as std.
All it ever needed was a set up.
I loved the finish. Buffed it with G3 and a rotary machine polisher and it came up a beautiful half glossy satin finish which when coated with carnauba wax was fairly durable.
It's one of the few guitars I would still buy another one of.
