So which set of guitars do you stay and burn with?

For me it's these four, My amazing partsocaster strat, which has had many changes over the years but is finally pretty much perfect, My home made angel tele, my 20th Anniversary Feline and my self relic'd Squier jazz bass. Happy cremation!

my john birch les paul.   its already been split in four pieces and was routed for dimarzio's. the proper pickups (from another now defunct john birch guitar)  survived the New jersey floods a few years ago.   its been through enough already!

Meh ... as much as I like them, sod them ... they're insured.

    Let them burn!

Being less of an arse though, probably the Yellow Jem :)

There just things.  they can be replaced.  make sure the important things in your life are taken care of first.

In my case I have some rare comics that are worth a bomb.  Im sure the kids can carry a box each on their way out.

As much as I love my Chibson, it'd be easier to replace than my Koa Taylor.

@Axisus I had forgotten all about your Angel tele and it's build thread on MR.
I wanted it then, and I want it now. Fucking. Gorgeous.
One if these days I'll offer you a stupid sum of money for it and then I'll hate you for turning me down!

I'd take my first great guitar (that gets no play time anymore but has great sentimental value): 2004 MIA standard strat.

But I'd have to go back and get my R8 too, because that guitar has quickly become the only guitar I play anymore!

If I could take one and only one it'd be my CS336, but honestly, I'd be too busy wrangling cats to pick up a guitar.

  • As others have said, all mine are insured. So long as my external HD (with all my photos on it) is safe, I'd be ok- it's all just stuff. I'd be VERY sad to see my Vintage Brett 12 go though: it's the perfect 12 string for me. My guitars are all unmodified (& therefore replaceable) I'd imagine something idiosyncratic & built to your own spec would be tougher to say goodbye to.

  • Edit!! I've just remembered: my insurance has a "new for old" replacement policy... My 2006 Les Paul Junior would be replaced by a 2015! :0 F*CK THAT!!

My Blade RH4, much as I love my PRS, its the Blade that does it for me; acoustic - Forster Model C, not just the best acoustic I have owned, but the best I have ever played

There is a story about someone famous doing this isn't there? I m thinking BB King ( R.I.P) and luciele but I could be wrong. Also I like how the OP says you can only save one then picks 4 . For me I d let them all burn then enjoy spending the insurance money on a nice 335 .

I think some have missed the point of the OP, it's not which one would you save, it's which guitars are you going to burn to death with, so essentially show us your guitars :D

Sod that. I bloody love my guitars, but not that much. Two of them are in Hiscox cases, so stand half a chance anyway:
