How much £$£ would you need to fulfill your current GAS list(s) Mine comes out at around £17k, but then I would need a dedicated studio space so add another £25K

Topic#2

It is getting to worry me that at current relationship status, I have no-one to leave me gear to in an unforeseen event... That is no-one that wouldn't convert it into handbags or toyboys. So I have pondered about setting up a trust so that it can go towards some musicians support group scenario... Then got me remembering when I was Appeals Officer for a major charity in 80s, when I spent a morning a week in the the records room of the Charity Commission looking for old Trusts that  were still active but their purpose outmoded. For instance there is Trust Fund that had xx acres available for sheep rearing in Wales... Or a suit of clothes for the first born so as to present themselves at an interview (c 1858)... I wonder then if there are any that could be called upon for us impoverished musicians looking to relieve awful GAS or require help constructing a studio...???

You could leave the value of your gear to The Musicians' Benevolent Fund if you didn't want it converted into handbags or toyboys.

  • I reckon just 2-3k would cover my GAS list very easily! And maybe a grand or two for a Victory amp and cab...

I wouldn't mind 4 Vintage '30's and a JMP 2203 but not really GASing for it.

My gas is for a decent pillar drill and a new table saw and maybe a planer/thicknesser, a bench sander and some cans of nitro.

Really want to build some guitars around the necks that I like.  I could sell the rest of the branded ones then.

Yep, workshop tools are my GAS.  I can't justify buying them for work.

For the moment a decent down cut spiral router bit would do.

I'm not really big on brand names and prefer the DIY route.

Guitar wise all I want right now is an S/S/S scratch plate, so something in the region of £200.

I'm not really GASsing at all.

instruments aside, I'd quite like a new laptop for video recording though.

Topic 2 was too complicated for my current braindead state

I want a Fender 68 Princeton and a 60s Baja. Maybe a TC Spark Mini. Not too bad really.

ES-175 in Sunburst, and again in Blonde (to match my ES-335)
ES-335 in Sunburst, to match the ES-175 at the top of the list
    ES-330 in Sunburst
    FretKing Elise JE
A recent issue of Sibelius, plus the computer to run it, and enough sound modules to give me a variety of orchestras, and a printer that can handle printing scores.
    A B3 Hammond.
    A Grand Piano.
A Blackface Twin to play the Rhodes into.
A house big enough to hold that lot plus the gear I've already got with outbuildings to house:
    A Morris Minor van, a modern Mercedes Sprinter with a tail-lift, an E-type, a Commando, an A10, and a Tiger 100A
And for the inside of the house: Tannoy speakers driven by Radford amplification

Number 1: probably £20k should sort it. I'd like an R8, another CU22 I can mod like my main one, A Singlecut 58, a Private Stock PRS, A Feline Lion. A Kotzen Strat, A 335, A couple of nice acoustics. A Fender Electric VII etc. Number 2: My oldest brother & nephew regularly ask me if they can have my guitars when I die.

I'm not aware that I'm troubled, I was just musing on what I'd do with unlimited GAS funds.

I don't GAs for anything. Just when I see something I'll decide if I want it or not.

Apart from something with H/S/S and a Floyd.......

    Topic #2

There's enough people who know what I have that can decide between themselves what they'll get.

There's at least 2 that want my Jackson and Charvel.......(no names @photek and @simonbeckwith )
