Sending a guitar back to Thomann - how much???

What's Hot

Just checked with DHL and it seems that its about £130 to send a guitar back to Germany.  Is this the experience of people here?  If so, not a risk I'm prepared to take.

Is this the Les Paul you bought about 4 months ago?

No.  This is a prospective purchase.  My LP Studio isn't going anywhere.

I know two people who've had problems with a guitar from thoman - first one they sent a replacement and said keep the original,  second one they arranged dhl to collect it.  I don't see a problem with either but I'd be happier with the first solution.

I don't anticipate any problem other than not liking the guitar.  As the only ones in England are miles away - and £100 more - I cannot really get to play one and I find that a few days are required to tell if its a keeper or not.

Seems very high. I sent a £1k bass guitar insured back to Musik Produktiv in Germany for £46.80 a few months ago using inter parcel.

Is that the figure quoted by Thomann or UPS?

Thomann doesn't bill you as such, they just deduct the amount from the purchase.  You need to initiate a return procedure and they give you a shipping label.

Yep, have a look on interparcel. They deal with lots of different couriers such as TNT, Parcelforce, UPS etc.

    £130 is crazy money.

Should be paying no more than around £50 for a good courier.
