Id like a drum kit please

What's Hot
TravisthedogTravisthedog Frets: 1848
Used to be my main instrument before I saw the light.

May have a pretty lucrative gig lined up if I'm prepared to get back behind the tubs

Happy to swap this http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/39956/425-trades-price-drop-prs-zakk-myers-signature-245#latest

for the right kit and would prefer a complete set up with cymbals and hardware. I used to play 1 up 2 down and like big bass drums so 26" gets me hot

I have a cheap starter set of shells that are going free if you can collect from anywhere near southampton. They're not great but you know...freeeeee :D

I have a Gretsch Renown kit & I have been thinking of upgrading to a USA Custom kit.
It is 24x16,16x16,13x9 in orange sparkle.
£600 without soft cases- £775 with soft cases.
    It has been re-skinned recently.
    Only want cash though.

I'd rather not sell my hardware and cymbals as I like what I have already.

It's some chinese starter brand...Dragon I think. Shells are alright though although putting decent heads on would definitely improve the tone.

I can sort some pics if you want a look at it.

    What a kit @octatonic!

Just watched a youtube clip - does it make you play like this?

If I was a drummer I would want this!

Sold mine years ago. Started getting into it but discovered cymbal gas was very costly.

I like the 18" based version but mine is very much the ROCK version with a 24" BD.
My next kit will have a 22" BD, bit easier to fit into the car, and a bit more focussed bottom end.

This is what I am shooting for:

    Yeah I prefer it too.
I've been trying to find another floor tom for the Renown kit too, but they are rare as hens testicles.

I'm surprised to see so many guitarist that I think of guitar as their bag seeming to be good drummers too.

There's a Tama Superstar Custom on Gumtree in Bristol for £150. Shell pack only but seems a bit of a bargain.

I love drumming, although im not as good at is as guitar. It has improved my writing immensely. I tend to write parts kinda simultaneously, so when I have a guitar riff, I'll already in my head have a clear idea of how it should interact with the drums and bass. I reckon this is directly as a result of playing different instruments.

I also love drumming- I'm not amazing at it, although now I'm done with my degree I am directing my energies into it more than I am into guitar.

If only to get a few more gigs- good drummers are always working.
Good guitarists are always in their bedrooms.

There's also a set of Zildjian ZBT's (hats, crash and ride) for £75 - probably a deal in there for the lot!

It may take a week or so to pick up stands and a kick pedal but you could have a very tidy kit for around £300, I reckon!!

See I'm the other way round - starts guitar at about 14 - everyone at school was a guitarist so to get in a band I lied and said I could play the drums

Luckily it turned out I could! And that was me from 1990 to about 2001. Up to semi pro really. Toured (a bit), depped (a lot) and fell totally out of love with the drums - and gave up forming the band I'm still in today!

But rapidly falling in love with the tubs again
