On a serious note, what particular features of a PRS are you after?

Saying that I played a few guitars when I popped down to @FelineGuitars yesterday. Had a bash on a pair of Blackmachines which were very nice. I was expecting to not really get along with the necks because they look so small in pictures, but they were comfortable and felt like you could man handle them. Also had a bash on a Feline Les Paul style guitar, similar story there really - felt very nice too!

I just like the way they look and the design. They're kind of a half way house between a Les Paul and a strat I suppose. I like the higher fret access. But really it's all about the shiny bits.

I used to have a Fame Forum IV for a few days about 3 or 4 years ago, but I didn't keep it. Kinda wish I had now! Digital Village have a Fame Forum IV in stock, but it's green... and I like blaccccckkkkk. They've got the cheaper Forum III too, but it's an alder body not mahogany, and I'm racist against alder. I also don't like the lack of fret markers, but they can be added later I suppose.

I traded my LP in for a PRS DGT recently and my top requirement was "no bling". It's black and is pretty fab. I never thought I'd get one.

Perhaps consider an Eggle instead? Cheaper - especially second-hand - and (superficially) similar.

Although it's a little bit confusing that you went to Feline and decided you want a PRS. If I was in Jonathan's shoes, I'd be pretty offended right now
