NGD: It's a tele

I've never had a tele and have been looking on and off of for the last 12 months but was never sure…then flyingv of this parish put this in the classifieds….price was great..work required wasn't mental (new nut as his son had it set up as a lefty)..what did I have to lose?

Arrived a couple of weeks ago and i finally sorted the nut yesterday morning…quick set up and it went with me to practice last night….oh boy….I'm a convert.  

Gonna leave it as stock just now and see how it goes after fiddling with amp/pedal settings, first impression was that the pickups sounded a bit thin for single note stuff but that might just be a settings thing as well….

Nice one! Big Tele fan here, main guitar is Tele despite having several other more expensive guitars to choose from.

If I could only own 1 guitar it would be a Tele.

Yes. A Tele hangs differently. The neck is further from my body, more like a 335 than a Les Paul, which lends itself more to thumb over on barre chords.  The neck is also close to the horizontal, whereas with some guitars the head is up at shoulder level.
