what would you do - sell or keep - DG335

What's Hot
I have a DG 335 which finally after sending it back to Gibson has come back and is amazing to behold. Problem for me is that i would rather play my strat plus or my R9. Its therefore been played all of one hour since i bought it. It sounds amazing but i cant get used to the thickness of the neck. I dont want to lose money on the sale and my thinking was that it may hold its value as the original blue version did. My head says sell it now but i am undecided

Sell it if you're not playing it.

Keep it for 10 years , make a fortune..... in a ideal world,  na just sell it, then have a long think about the reasoning behind buying a 4 plus k guitar unseen :)

The neck is the number one thing which decides if a Gibson is a keeper or not. (other things can be modded).
If you don't like the neck it's an investment under the bed. If it's not an investment - sell it now.

I would not bet on any value increase. The market is swamped with guitars at bargain prices.

Sell it - the reissue will kill the resale increase.

I'd give it another whirl to play first (the neck is different, but you might get used to it, maybe even prefer it?), if you regret selling it on, it'll be expensive to get another. If it still doesn't make it as a daily player, flog it :)

  • its quite a chunky neck. The neck on my R9 is perfect for me.

I think you know the answer then... I'll give you a tenner and a Twix?

Good luck with the sale :)

The two I tried here weren't particularly chunky - certainly not R8 levels anyway. Nice though, and a nice change from a bland slim C or 60s D profiles.

I personally couldn't afford to keep a guitar of that value if it wasn't seeing much use.
    Would have to go...

But, if you're 'financially comfortable' and can afford to keep it regardless, then I'd say keep hold.
You may start getting along with the neck in time.
