Do you know anybody who makes guitar straps?

Sorry for being cagey, but...my daughter and I may have created something which could be useful to a lot of people. Currently trying to decide whether to take it to a strap company or make a few prototypes ourselves...it would be most useful if we had somebody who already makes straps, though.

Anyone?

The couple that run Heistercamp are decent folk (had a good chat with them at the Brum Guitar Show). They're an independent family business and specialise in leather straps, would that be suitable?

Thanks, guys - I'm still trying to work out the details, and whether it'll genuinely help people even when they don't have shoulder problems like me (that's what prompted this little endeavour). I'll look 'em up.

Is this something that you could get up and running with a bit of startup cost? If so could you run a Kickstarter?

That's a possibility, but the current prototype is a five-minutes-with-a-knife-and-a-sewing-machine job. Currently weighing up the options...I guess what I really need to do is go back a step and get a few people to try it out.

I think the first step is to get some NDA's written up.

There's a place called barefootleather.co.uk  that makes all kinds of things including guitar straps. He knows a thing or two about leatherwork. He seemed quite approachable when I spoke to him a few years ago.

    Dragons den..

    ;)
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Bear's looking like a good one - apart from anything, their prices are relatively low. I'll give 'em a call...
