hurts my eyes haha, how come the screw poles are in the upper bobbin and not the bottom? every picture i have seen they have been in the lower and the black hex screws in the top

To be honest they are great at pretty much everything. Because they are essentially two quality single coils made into a 'bucker you get the best of everything, very even and dynamic.  I have two in my Ibanez and I am only looking to change one out to add a slightly different flavour.  What are you putting it in?

its a very interesting idea, and i love weird and wonderful pickups, i still need the meaty standard bucker tone just with less of the mids than i currently have, which is too much! and a little more top end bite

The Brass Knuckle isn't that quirky, if you want 'more' it could well do it. It is also tape wrapped rather than string so looks conventional. I do have a SD '59 in white but it is standard spacing, which is only @2.5mm different.

IIRC I think I swapped them around to get a different split coil tone.
