Action problem

One of my favourite guitars is currently relegated to back up as i'm currently finding it unplayable, its a Floyd rose loaded Framus and the problem im having is that while the action is fine at the low frets its almost unplayably high above the 12th fret.
The necks nice and straight so how would i remedy this is it as simple as lowering the bridge or is there other jiggery pokery required?

Is the Floyd parallel to the body?

The spring tension on the Floyd might need adjusting.

is there any relief in the neck? You'll need a bit.

If the neck is dead straight (so that if you hold the string down at the first fret and where the neck joins the body , they touch in the middle - or almost do) then your only redress is to lower the bridge.
If it's a bolt on you could shim the neck or have the neck pocket altered so that the strings can be closer to the frets

Was the guitar always this way?
If not then something HAS to have changed.

If you were local I'd be happy to have a look for you.

You may we find that a shim will help. Not sure how many stunt guitars have/need shims, but it's common on fenders.

@feline yes the guitar has always been that way i've just been able to live with it until now and ive done what you said and the neck seems to be dead straight.
unfortunately i'm quite a way from you and don't have the money for a pro setup at the moment :(
I'm not sure how i would go about shimming the neck as its a strange bolt on with 2 bolt in the back and 2 in the front :/
i'll try lowering the bridge tonight

Without seeing the guitar, it sounds like there might be a bit of backward (the middle is higher than the ends) bow on the neck.

Maybe the truss rod needs a slight tweak. I'd try a 1/4 turn left* (anti-clockwise) to loosen it a bit.

Don't forget to slacken the strings before you lower the bridge or you'll possibly knacker the knife edges.

Bit of fallaway added to the higher frets could be your solution.

Unbolt the neck and send it to Feline!

Most likely just needs a good set up.

The problem with a neck that is too straight is in order to stop the lower frets buzzing you have to have the action high at the upper frets. You need to introduce a bit of curve into the neck so that you can lower the action and still have a bit of room for the strings to vibrate without buzzing on the lower frets.

So, I'd look at loosening the truss rod by a quarter turn and lowering the bridge (after loosening the strings or taking the springs off) as a good start.
