Hi folks

Here's a nice little 5e3 clone made by "Tweedy Toneworks".  Nice tidy build with quality components throughout.  Currently sporting Brimar NOS 6v6s, a Jan Phillips 5Y3 rectifier and a GT 12AY7 in V1 (can swap this for a higher gain preamp tube if you prefer)

Speaker is a Jensen P12R Alnico, and a Fender slip cover is included.

Not looking for any trades at the moment, and the price is final.  If it doesn't shift on here I'll get it on eBay to coincide with next month's pay-day :)

I'm in Fareham, Hants, but am happy to ship.  .

I recognise that. Awesome amp, hand built by a local amp tech and just fantastic sound, weighs almost nothing too!

    Hi
looks very interesting - couple of questions:
    - how much does it weigh (finding it harder and harder to lug my amp around)?
    - what is the power rating - is it loud enough for small gigs next to an enthusiastic drummer?
    - from the other perspective can it deliver some decent sounds at bedroom (actually lounge) levels?
    Cheers
    Steve

Yeah, I think this was yours!  It has served me very well  :)  Only change I made was I had the tweed lacquered by Andy Turnpenny (of Blind Dog amps).  It looks great now - nicely vintaged up :)

    Hi Steve

It's incredibly light.  I'd estimate it at around 25lb, but could verify that on bathroom scales if you like.  Those Jensens weigh about the same as a Neodymium speaker so the overall package is feather light with the pine cab etc.  You could lift it with one finger.

Power rating is as per standard 5e3, so I think that's 12-15w or so?  I've gigged it all over the place with loud drummers and it does hold up.  If you play blues/rock you'll likely find it does the job, but you won't be able to play loud and clean. This is not for surf or funk at loud volumes!  I did run a more efficient speaker through this too, which helped a lot.

It sounds lovely at low volumes, but you'd better have very understanding neighbours if you want to dime it for heavy breakup.  For clean sounds with/without overdrive pedals it's very sweet.

    Hope that helps!

    Sweeeeeeeeeet.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Chaps, I just spend the morning playing through the amp and.... bugger it.  I'm going to hold on to it!  I was ABing it with a Tweed Super 1x12 I've recently picked up for gigging.  The Super is a louder, cleaner gigging machine but the Deluxe has something magical going on with lower volume cleans and I know I'll miss that if I were to let it go.

So, for now, she stays.  Ask me again in a few month's time.

Thanks to Matt and Phil for providing some interesting family history!  @PinstripePhil, I notice the amp had a name plate originally.  Any idea what happened to that?  It's missing now - just wondering if that was a Fender one or if the builder had one of his own.
