I know I've posted about the Divine Comedy on here before, but these two songs in particular. Polar opposites but both awesome.
This one's just so uplifting, and it's full of great melodies... catchy as fuck. And it's about hayfever, so I can relate Love the title.
Then there's this...
I mean... HOW fucking killer is that? I'm getting quite a Scott Walker-ish vibe from it, absolutely gorgeous string arrangements. Then at the end (3:50 onwards) when everything else drops out and the orchestra starts a new theme... it's like a film soundtrack. then at 5:05 the music becomes altogether darker, and there's a creepy spoken-word part. Gives me chills.
Goddammit, Neil Hannon must be some kind of musical genius.
