PRS flaw?

Was playing tonight and I rest my forearm on the body heavily sometimes. Realised the edges are sharp - no slopey bit like on a Fender, for example! Should I just man up?

You need a soft, hand-tooled leather guitar cover.

    Lol to the replies.
Is it the same on Gibsons?
Right, I need to do some weights - I'm too weedy!

Yes they are a bit sharp around the edges, as are Les Pauls.  Especially if you're bare-armed and a bit sweaty.

    You need some Hetfield wristbands.

When standing up I never find that an issue be it PRS, Les Paul, Tele. If it is uncomfortable still you could try a sweatband. I always end up with sweatbands anyway because I'm sweaty. Actually the worst for playing when sweaty is my Fender Strat, either I stick to it or slide right off, depending on how dry or wet my arm is. Sweatbands cure that too.

It's why I can't really get on with Les Paul Customs, much as I desperately want one... for me it's the sharp-edged binding on the back though. Hence I've realised what I really need is a 2007 LP Classic Custom... which is seemingly very rare and quite expensive. Bugger.

That was the only thing that bugged me about the Prs shape. It seems brent mason thought the same so he changed that on his signature model.

I'd never thought about that until you mentioned it.  The body is much more Strat-like than I realised, I guess I was seeing the deep PRS cutaway and thinking the whole thing had much more typical PRS contouring than it really does.  Same goes for the NF3.

Personally I think the most comfortable style of PRS body contouring is the SG-influenced "gentle slope" on the Miras and most of the S2 models.

It's amazing the little things you pick up on as you play over the years which build up to what your perfect guitar would be.

If it's chafing then a dab of Germolene should sort that out.

I don't really feel it stood up, definitely don't find it uncomfortable - are you guys playing sat down or is it just my playing position?

@thomasross20 I agree with you. I have played an unbound Tele for the last few years. Obviously the Tele doesn't have a cutaway but the edges of the body are rounded. In my new band I play a PRS DGT and towards the end of our first gig, I really noticed the edge of the body digging into my right forearm as I played.
